Toyota Workers look out – you’re being scammed

In the business section of today’s Toronto Star, I read very disappointing news. After years of screwing the auto industry with overzealous labour demands and eventually costing the Canadian taxpayer millions and in a world of reducing labour force, the CAW is trying to get Toyota workers to come over to the dark side.

Lets face it – the CAW paying membership is being reduced on a steady basis as plants close, shifts are reduced and production moved out of Canada and, in order to support the lifestyle they have gotten used to, they are trying to get Toyota workers to get on board a union.  Hey, if it wasn’t for the taxpayer bailout, the union auto industry would be sucking lemons right now.  Your non-union plant has been doing great.

They say it is because Toyota has scheduled extra production, reduced some paid holidays and increased daily production. Wake up Toyota worker – this is what the UAW has agreed to in the US to get production rolling and the CAWhas also make concessions.

In order to protect your company, these things had to be done but it seems that the CAW wants to bring you guys down to the lowest common dominator.  I’d tell you stories but I think it is common knowledge – union = protection of worst worker.

It was a union plant that built my F150 with the leaky window and this so-called voice of the people, the CAW didn’t help me, even though it was one of their guys who made the mistake.  So much for responsibility and accountability.  Their guy made the mistake but they tell me it’s Ford’s problem.  Each pass the buck and nothing gets done.

So, Toyota it is up to you.  You’ve got good workers and maybe they need something to help out.  But, you Toyota worker have a responsibility as well to put out a quality product and work towards making sure you are competitive.

Unless of course, you want to join the CAW/UAW union method of sucking on the taxpayer’s tit for help.  Nothing like union welfare.

Ford – the Nazi connection

I’ve received some letters that say it isn’t fair that I call Ford a hotbed for Nazism. Well, I certainly can’t say that the present day Ford executives are Nazis or anti-semitic but I can say that Ford built vehicles for the Third Reich for profit and did sue the US government for bombing those factories. I just feel as victimized in that they build vehicles with faults and don’t own up to them, even though there is a potential to cause death or injury. Maybe the CAW and UAW can justify this position but, if they want my support as a taxpayer, they had better support me as a consumer. The former is forced but the latter is voluntary and at least I can take my business elsewhere. Ford was’nt patriotic in the second world war, so why should I “Buy Canadian/American” from Ford now.

For the Nazi link, go to this YouTube video for an entertaining song and video.

Ford 1 – Consumer 0

Well, I must admit I am beginning to believe that the Ford ripoff machine will win this battle.  You’ll notice that Obama and Harper are getting tough with GM and Chrysler.  Basically, if they want the TAXPAYER’S money, they have to follow some rules.  They’ve had the GM CEO leave and they are putting other restrictions on the two companies.  Although Ford put itself on standby for some of the government money, they have held off asking for it.  Why?? Probably because they are protecting their overpaid asses and, they don’t want to be held accountable for the shoddy vehicles they put on the market.  They can’t defend the work they did and they don’t even respond to requests.   Even the CAW/UAW hide behind the old “your anti-union” crap when asked why they don’t stand up for the consumer.

Well, I know my blog has been a waste of time but I certainly learned a lot about ethics, work ethic, quality, workmanship, pride – all the things the auto industry is missing.

Well Ford, you win, but in the end I’ll win by buying a Toyota.  I won’t be wasting my time writing anymore about you as I am moving on to better things but the sign on my tailgate will tell it all.  At least I can drive around Oakville and let the Ford employees know how I feel about their work ethic.  And Lewenza – grow up and smell the roses.  Your flogging a dead horse trying to get the taxpayer to believe you guys have done all there is to save the industry.  We’re suffering too, but your members are putting out vehicles that are raping our savings with poor quality.  Think about that when you drive your union sponsored car.

Well, all for now and the picture… Just how I felt when Ford shafted me.
